Trail Feature:

This trail located in the south side of the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness, travels through open stands of pine and meadows to High Lake. No developed trailhead; parking is extremely limited. This trail is a great day hike to beautiful High Lake, and connects to many others for those wishing for longer multiday backpacking trips. The Lake Creek Trail connects to Skyline Trail #385 that ties into other trails allowing for a 17 mile loop that gives access to multiple lakes in the wilderness including Strawberry Lake.
Good water flow, even in a dry year, result in several wet spots to maneuver across.

From Prairie City, OR., turn onto South Main Street to the junction with Bridge Street. Turn left onto Bridge Street, follow the road past the local cemetary the road then becomes County Road 62. Follow County Road 62 to Summit Prairie. Go west on Forest Road 16 approximately 7 miles to the junction wtih Forest Road 924. Follow Forest Road 924 for approximately 5 miles, the trailhead is located at the end of Forest Road 924.
