Geology & Paleontology of Grant county Lectures and Field Trip

May 2 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

Blue Mountain Community College is partnering with Grant County Senior Services, the Malheur National Forest, and Fossil Beds National Monument, to put on a 3-part series on local geology on 5/2, 5/9, and 5/16. The class will cover geology and paleontology of the Blue Mountains and the John Day River Basin. For the first 2 sessions, we will meet for a lecture (snacks provided), and for the 3rd session, we will board the People Mover for a field trip to Thomas Condon Paleontology Center and other points of interest (sack lunch provided). People Mover will provide free transportation from John Day to Dayville each week, and for the field trip. All activities are accessible to those with mobility limitations. This class was made possible by a generous grant from the Roundhouse Foundation.

The series is free, but pre-registration is required.
