Grant County Chamber of Commerce Assumes Responsibility for Landmark Conestoga Wagon

We are pleased to announce that the Grant County Chamber of Commerce has agreed to take over the responsibility of for the management and maintenance of the Landmark Conestoga Wagon located at the Dixie Summit Viewpoint. The popular rest area and information center overlooks the scenic Strawberry Mountain range and its entrance to the John Day Valley and has attracted thousands of visitors since 1998. The wagon was erected in conjunction with the Journey Through Time Scenic Byway project. In 1999, the Prairie City Community Association acquired the responsibility for managing and maintaining the wagon which has been supported by advertising dollars and some from the Transient Room Tax funds. The wagon was designed with an enclosed entry which provides covered space for information and attractions around our county and showcases our businesses who have helped support the wagon for over twenty years. Annual Advertising Fees: 8″ x 11″ – $200 per year
11″ x 17″- $300 per year

For those who have existing ads located at the wagon, 2018/19 was never billed so you just received on year for free. Some ads need to be updated and refreshed.
