Cycle Oregon is Coming to Grant County for the Painted Hills Classic – September 12-19, 2020

Dear Community Organization Partner
As you have probably heard, Cycle Oregon is coming to town September 12-19, 2020 for their Painted
Hills Classic Bicycle Ride. This is exciting news! The event will begin and end in John Day.
There are several opportunities for local organizations to volunteer for various jobs to be done during the event.
Cycle Oregon will make a contribution to the group either in the form of a check or grant from the Cycle Oregon Fund.
The Grant County Chamber of Commerce is the Community Manager for John Day.
We are responsible for assigning groups for the various jobs and distributing and collecting the agreements
between the groups and Cycle Oregon. Contributions for the work done will be mailed directly to each group.
Groups are needed for the following jobs:
Table/Chair setup and teardown – Need 6 to 8 people 9/11 for setup at 10:00 am
9/13 takedown at 7:30 am
$1,000 for both setup and takedown
9/19 setup at 9:00 am
9/19 takedown at 4:00 pm
Beer Garden Monitors – Must be over 21 years of age – Need 2 people 9/12 from 4:00 to 10:00 pm
9/19 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm
$500 per shift
Green Team – Need 6 people per breakfast & dinner shift 9/12 from 5:00 – 8:30 pm for dinner
Need 10 people for sweep and teardown 9/13 from 5:30 to 8:30 am for breakfast
9/13 from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm Sweep team
$500 per breakfast & dinner shift
$1,000 per sweep shift
Baggage – Need 30 – 40 people and this group will also receive tips 9/13 for loading from 5:30 am to 9:00 am
9/19 for unloading from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm
Unload bags and transport to tent city
Pick up bags in tent city and load onto baggage trucks
$1,200 per shift

Long term parking baggage dates & times
9/11 to unload from long-term parking – 10 people needed 3:00 to 8:00 pm
9/12 to unload from long term-parking – 10 people needed 9:00 to 11:00 am
9/12 to unload from long-term parking – 30 to 40 people needed 11:00 am to 9:00 pm
Dinner Service – 32 to 36 people needed to serve 9/12 from 4:30 to 8:30 pm
Bussers – 3 people needed 9/13 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm
$1,200 per shift
Breakfast Service – 20 people needed to serve
Bussers – 3 people needed
$1,000 per shift
Packet Pickup – 20 people per shift needed 9/12 from 12:00 to 8:00 pm
Finish-line decorations and welcome committee – 10-15 people needed
$1,200 Saturday, 9/19 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
