Features: For the hiker or packer who is looking for solitude, this is the trail to use. The West Fork Pine Creek Trail is a secondary trail off the main wilderness trail system. This trail is not maintained by Forest Service crews, but does occasionally get logged out by hunters and packers. It can be difficult to negotiate for the beginner or intermediate trail user. This trail leaves Forest Service Road 5401811 and goes west for 3 miles to tie in with the Canyon Mountain Trail 218.

Access: From John Day, travel east on US Highway 26 toward Prairie City for approximately 5 1/2 miles to County Road 54. Travel south on County Road 54 for approximately 3 1/2 miles to Forest Service Road 5401. Continue driving south on Forest Service Road 5401 for about 4 miles to Forest Service Road 5401811. Drive south on Forest Service Road 5401811 for about 1 3/4 miles to the Pine Creek Trailhead. From the trailhead, walk around the steel gate and Forest Service Road 5401811 and continue west and south on this road for about 3 miles to the West Fork Pine Creek Trail.

If I wasn't so busy...

I'd look up the GPS Coordinates information for West Fork Pine Creek Trail to show you the Google® Map!
