Features: This trail allows for relatively quick access to Wildcat Basin. There are unique geological formations of volcanic origin.

Access: From John Day, travel south on US highway 395 for approximately 10 miles. Turn left onto County road 65. Follow the county road, which will turn into Forest Service road 15, turn onto Forest Service road 1520. Continue past the Canyon Meadows campground to the end of the road and follow the signs to the trailhead.
